Perth Football Club Grandstand
As you may be aware, there are now advanced plans to redevelop Lathlain Park to become the new home of the West Coast Eagles. This is an ambitious $68 million project which is now coming to fruition thanks to the support of the Coalition Government.
The local WAFL team Perth Football Club will continue to share Lathlain Park and use it as its home base after the West Coast Eagles move in.
However Perth FC will need to replace its existing grandstand, which is decrepit and riddled with concrete cancer. The structure has long been identified as needing replacing and the timing is now right to get it done as part of the wider redevelopment.
A new grandstand and community football facility has been designed and costed at approximately $15 million by Perth Football Club and the Town of Victoria Park.
It will contain administrative and community facilities within its overall structure and is anticipated to become a HQ for the sport in the region, connecting local clubs in the Perth FC football zone with the new upgraded Lathlain Park facilities, something I have advocated for a long time.
I am supporting the Town of Victoria Park’s application for a $7.49 million federal funding contribution towards this project in Round 3 of the Federal Government’s National Stronger Regions Programme.
