South Perth Aquatic Centre Feasibility Study
Invitation to Public Meeting
Following gaining $45,000 in Federal Government grant funding for a South Perth Aquatic Centre feasibility study, I am pleased to inform you that a public meeting will now be held on 11 March 2015 to gain direct feedback from residents and community organisations.
This funding represents another step forward in the campaign for aquatic facilities in the Manning-Karawara precinct which began in 2011 after this important sporting infrastructure initiative was identified by residents as a priority for the City of South Perth community.
While neighbouring areas such as the City of Belmont, Town of Victoria Park, City of Canning and City of Gosnells all have, or are in the process of constructing high quality aquatic centres for their residents, the City of South Perth has no such facility.
This consultation phase is vital to ensure any future facilities are developed in residents’ best interests and I encourage you to show your support for this initiative by attending the public meeting and sharing your grassroots knowledge.
Date: 11 March 2015
Location: George Burnett Leisure Centre
Manning Road, Karawara WA 6152
If you are unable to attend the public meeting but would like to make a submission please post this to Jill Powell and Associates, PO Box 296 Inglewood WA 6052.
