Making Belmont Safer and Building our Community Centre

The Federal Liberal Government is delivering the state-of-the-art new Community Centre at Faulkner Park Civic Precinct, which will become the focal point for service delivery in the City of Belmont.

This multi-purpose cross-generational Community Centre, announced by Scott Morrison in 2016, will include the library, museum, senior citizens centre, office space for community service providers, crèche and café.

I am proud to announce that in addition to the $9.67 million investment that has seen construction of the new community centre get underway, a re-elected Morrison Government will also invest $540,000 in a state-of-the-art security system and infrastructure, to make both the centre and surrounding community safer.

The new security infrastructure will enhance safety and builds on the existing $196,736 to install 70 CCTV cameras within the Belmont Community Centre site – totaling over $10.4 million for Belmont initiatives.

Our strong economic management means that we can deliver the essential services and security that keep families in Swan safe and well, and support local groups who are the lifeblood of our community.

By contrast, Labor declined to provide support for the construction of the Belmont Community Centre when asked to, failing to deliver for Belmont.

As your Federal Member for Swan, I am continuing to work to deliver more for Belmont and our community.

I’m fighting for future projects in the City of Belmont.
