January 8 Media Release

FEDERAL Member for Swan, Steve Irons and his wife, City of South Perth councillor Cheryle Irons, have supported the newest jewellery designer in town.

Whilst at Princess Margaret Hospital recently, 16-year-old Rani designed a ring with South Perth’s Soklich & Co as part of a workshop held in conjunction with the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

The teenager’s design was hand crafted into a beautiful yellow diamond and tanzanite ring set in 18ct white gold with yellow gold highlights. The 3.58ct centre stone is surrounded by more than 100 white diamonds.

Steve and Cheryle were there to witness Rani see the finished ring for the first time since it was created from her design.

“It was great to see the delight on Rani’s face once she saw the ring designed as a finished item,” Mr Irons said.

“We are really proud to be part of this moment. This is just one example of a local business volunteering to do something great for charity in the electorate of Swan.”

Starlight brightens the lives of seriously ill children, young people and their families.
