Construction of the Anticipated Belmont Hub Now Complete

31 October 2020

Residents in the City of Belmont now have access to a brand new state-of-the-art community centre situated at the Faulkner Civic Precinct.

It was back in 2016 when our now Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, who was Treasurer at the time visited Swan and pledged $9.67 million federal funding to this project. After 4 years in planning and construction I am delighted to now see it open to the public.

The Belmont Hub, is a modern multipurpose, cross-generational community building featuring a library, seniors hub, a museum and a space for non for profits.

The Belmont Community Centre and Library will provide the community with a sense of belonging, training and education to disadvantaged members of the community.

I thank the Mayor, the CEO, local councillors and those involved in making this a reality.

In addition to the funding for the construction of the Belmont Hub I am pleased to have been able to provide a further $736,736 towards the Faulkner Park Smart Precinct project.

The City of Belmont received a grant from the Federal Liberal Government to install a state-of-the-art security system and infrastructure in the area which will enable the City to address crime and antisocial behaviour.

This CCTV in the Faulkner Park Precinct also provides security for the newly constructed community Centre – The Belmont Hub.

I am committed to ensuring our local area has the best facilities for our community to enjoy.

Federal Member for Swan.
