The Morrison Government is providing local brewery, Blasta Brewing Company with almost $1 million in funding to support the brewery’s $3.6 million expansion which is due to be completed next year.
The funding is being delivered under round two of the Government’s Manufacturing Modernisation Fund, which is providing grants totalling $55 million to 86 projects around Australia.
The grants help small and medium sized manufacturers invest in capital equipment and new technologies, while improving the skills of their workers.
With craft brewing enjoying a surge in popularity globally, Blasta intends to significantly boost production to increase its domestic sales and to pursue export opportunities.
Blasta’s expansion will see the brewery moved to a 4100sqm site in Belmont, and upscale to initially produce five million litres of beer and then 10 million once fully operational. The expansion will create about 50 jobs at Blasta.
Groups like Blasta are vital to our nation’s economy and that’s why the Morrison Government is backing businesses like Blasta Group, providing significant financial support to help them modernise, innovate and grow.
Steven Russell and his wife Kat launched Blasta back in 2018. Since then, the local Burswood brewery has won many awards in recognition of their beer.
Cheers and congratulations to Steve and the team!
